Pea Pasta with Shallot Cream Sauce
This creamy pea pasta with shallot cream sauce is a delightful dish that combines the sweetness of peas with the rich flavor of a creamy sauce. It's quick and easy to make, perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz pasta
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the package to cook the pasta
Before the end of the cooking time, add the frozen peas to the boiling water
Drain the pasta and peas, but save 1/2 cup of the pasta water
Melt the butter in a pan over medium-low heat
Put in the garlic and shallots, and saut for about 3 minutes, until the garlic is soft and smells good
Add the heavy cream and bring it to a low boil
For two to three minutes, or until slightly thicker
Add grated Parmesan cheese and mix it in until it melts and is smooth
Toss the cooked pasta and peas around in the pan after adding them
If the sauce is too thick, slowly add the pasta water that you saved until you get the consistency you want
Add pepper and salt to taste
Before serving, sprinkle with fresh parsley
