French Caramelized Apple Tart

Indulge in the exquisite flavors of this classic French dessert - a buttery puff pastry base topped with caramelized apples, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and warmth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4-5 apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting optional

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375F 190C

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular shape

Transfer the pastry to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Arrange the sliced apples evenly over the pastry, leaving a border around the edges

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat

Add the granulated sugar, water, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon

Stir until the sugar is dissolved

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly to a caramel consistency

Pour the caramel sauce over the arranged apples on the pastry

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly

Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired

Slice and serve warm

Enjoy!
