Filipino Adobo Chicken Wings
Adobo chicken wings are a traditional Filipino dish. They are marinated in a sauce made of soy sauce, vinegar, and aromatics that is both sour and salty.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 pound chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions:
Put garlic, peppercorns, bay leaves, soy sauce, vinegar, water, and brown sugar in a bowl
Mix these together to make the marinade
Cover and put the chicken wings in the fridge for at least an hour or overnight
In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat
The chicken wings should be browned after being added to the pan
This should take about 5 minutes per side
Add the sauce and bring it to a boil
Turn down the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the chicken is done and the sauce gets thick
Enjoy while hot!
