- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F
Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a sizable mixing bowl until the mixture is smooth and fluffy
One egg at a time, beat in, and then mix in the vanilla extract
Mix the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt in a different bowl
Mixing until thoroughly combined, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones
If desired, mix in the chopped nuts and white and semi-sweet chocolate chips
Drop cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets in rounded tablespoons
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the centers are still soft but the edges are set, in a preheated oven
Take out of the oven and let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets, then move them to wire racks to cool down completely
Sip a glass of milk and enjoy your double chocolate chip cookies!
